Support the fight to beat lung cancer!
When my sister Dana was just 50 years old, I lost her to this deadly cancer. It hit our family hard and fast. But I’m happy to say that my dear friend Tracy - who has this same cancer - is living with it. Truly living! It is thanks to funding, research and persistence that he is doing so well. While he is running the 10K (yep, he is a strong one), I will be walking the 5K with a smile on my face. Because while I miss Dana so much, I will walk proudly to honor her memory and celebrate Tracy, Lisa, Elise, Emily and Abi! They are an amazing family/team!
so, I am fundraising for the 12th Annual A Breath of Hope Lung Run/Walk Twin Cities because:
- Lung cancer is the deadliest cancer, claiming more lives than breast, colon and prostate cancers COMBINED;
- More than 160,000 Americans will die of lung cancer this year. Half are nonsmokers when diagnosed; and
- Lung cancer research remains dramatically underfunded.
The A Breath of Hope Lung Run/Walk Twin Cities began in 2007 after a group of lung cancer patients, their family members and their nurse experienced the lack of awareness, resources and support for this devastating disease. They realized that without action, the then 15% survival rate would not improve.
A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation was established as a 501(c)(3) in 2008 to fight lung cancer through awareness, patient and family support and innovative lung cancer research.
Please consider a donation to support my efforts to beat this unfair and misunderstood disease.
