2019 A Breath of Hope Lung Run/Walk Twin Cities

Support Team Nunc Coepi in the fight to beat lung cancer!

We are fundraising for the 12th Annual A Breath of Hope Lung Run/Walk Twin Cities. My experience with Lung Cancer started in the Fall of 2016 when back pains while jogging led to several doctor visits and an eventual CT scan which showed something was very wrong. After further tests I was eventually diagnosed with Stage IV adenocarcinoma including an ALK genetic variation. I started Targeted Chemo Therapies designed specifically to fight ALK mutation cancer and have been very fortunate to keep the cancer in check.

Since, my diagnosis I've been learning more about Lung Cancer and the challnge it faces for adequate research funding and prevention education. Specifically, I've learned:

Lung cancer is the deadliest cancer, claiming more lives than breast, colon and prostate cancers COMBINED;
More than 160,000 Americans will die of lung cancer this year. Half are nonsmokers when diagnosed; and
Lung cancer research remains dramatically underfunded.
The A Breath of Hope Lung Run/Walk Twin Cities began in 2007 after a group of lung cancer patients, their family members and their nurse experienced the lack of awareness, resources and support for this devastating disease. They realized that without action, the then 15% survival rate would not improve.

A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation was established as a 501(c)(3) in 2008 to fight lung cancer through awareness, patient and family support and innovative lung cancer research.

Please consider a donation to support my efforts to beat this unfair and misunderstood disease or better yet join the team and come out to run / walk with us on Saturday, August 10th.

Thanks and hope to see you at the race!!
